If you are going to the March FTX from the 3rd to the 5th, keep these notes in mind:
Bus Leaves BCIT at 1700h SHARP. If you are late, we are leaving without you. Come at least 30 minutes early to the big parking lot that is beside the parade square (the same spot as our fire evacuation site)
Bring LOTS of layers! We don't know how cold it will be and in the case of snow, you do NOT want to be packing light. Wear thermal undershirts, fleece-lined jackets, and make sure you have WATERPROOF jackets and pants that can go over all your layers. Even though you are wearing FTUs (if you have them), you can wear them with hoodies, turtlenecks, and anything that will keep you warm.
You MUST have some type of head gear. This includes ball caps, bucket hats, toques. Balaclavas/Jacket and Hoodie Hoods DO NOT count as head gear. The purpose of having head gear is to prevent as much heat leaving your body (you lose the most body heat through your head)
Contrabands are a very serious offense. If you bring them, as stated in the FTX Kit List, you will not be joining the other cadets on the FTX.
We will be coming back to BCIT on Sunday at approximately 1230h to 1300h depending on traffic and weather conditions. PARENTS/GUARDIANS should be at BCIT no later than 1300h. We are required by policy to drop off cadets at a local police station if there is no one to pick them up in a timely manner.
