What is Ground School?
Ground School is a core component of an aviator's journey to understand topics such as: Airframes, Theory of Flight, Air Law, Meteorology, Navigation, and Engines. These topics are required to pass the Transport Canada Exam if you are looking to become a pilot. But are also important topics to know if you plan on working in the aviation industry such as being an air traffic controller, aircraft maintenance, flight crew on an airline, etc.
692 Squadron Ground School
The 692 in-house Ground School is taught by OCdt Chiang and the licensed pilots at our squadron.
The Squadron Ground School is purely optional and is open to all levels and all ages.
Ground School is to prepare cadets for the glider and power exams before they are eligible to apply so that 692 can send as many well-trained cadets on the courses.
The goal is also to invite aviation enthusiasts who may not want to become pilots but want to work in the aviation industry in other aspects and give them the technical tools necessary to excel in their future careers.
