What is Effective Speaking?

Effective Speaking is a dynamic platform where aspiring cadets come to fortify their public speaking skills while nurturing essential qualities such as critical reasoning, organizational skill sets, and expressive techniques. Engaging in the program means not only to develop communication skills, but also to expand cadets' horizons, flourish quick-thinking techniques and assist them in becoming an all-rounded individual. Cadets will learn about leadership, teamwork, self-discipline, self-confidence and good citizenship throughout the program whilst gaining new friendships and creating long lasting memories.

Cadets are to participate in the annual squadron competition in hopes of reaching new heights, discovering different skill sets and demonstrating their past efforts to their peers and several judges. The competition is a fantastic way for individuals to grow and develop ongoing skills and strengthen their sense of belonging to the squadron. Through the program, winning cadets will also receive the opportunity to compete on higher grounds and interact with others from the lower mainland and more!

Throughout the course of half a year, ranging from October to February, cadets will further enhance their reading, writing and presentation skills in divergent forms of speeches. Our meetings are relaxed but professional, providing a safe learning environment for cadets of all ages and levels to participate in our weekly Monday meetings!
